To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.
- Henri Bergson
I always thought I’d be doing print work after receiving my BFA in graphic design over 20 years ago. But after a few years in, I wanted to break out of just doing print and learn skills to design at a larger capacity. With additional schooling I gained knowledge for a career in visual merchandising and was now designing in a much more intriguing way by producing 3-Dimensional displays and presenting products that would attract, engage and motivate customers. With the combined knowledge of graphics and visual merchandising, I knew how much more effective I could be as a graphic designer once returning back to the industry. But with so many advancements in technology, my current skills and hard cover portfolio weren’t winning me any points despite my experience. To compete in this modern web-based world I took a couple interface classes and it was then that a new passion was sparked. I took some time off from working and focused myself on learning this new skill so that I could make it part of my versatility as an artist.
Today, I return back to the industry with renewed ambition. With my diverse design range, I am able to analyze a project from all angles and create a complete customer experience that is very thoughtful and detailed. Being a well rounded designer is what sets me apart and makes me unique.
Some of my software knowledge include—but is not limited to—Adobe Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign, and XD. With recent schooling, I have HTML, CSS and WordPress under my belt. I never worry at my ability to grasp a new program and I have always been able to parlay my experiences and skill sets to the requirements of any new project type.
